Megan Figueroa

Megan Figueroa, RVT

I was born and raised in Colorado! I started working at a local vet clinic after high school and fell in love with the field. I moved to Wisconsin for a short time and worked with a range of species and a vet clinic there. Colorado called me back home in the summer of 2015. From 2015 until spring of 2021 I found myself working at several different vet clinics and animal ER clinics until I found my niche with Dr. Moorer in the spring of 2021! I have 2 rescue dogs (an American Staffordshire terrier and a mini Australian shepherd), 3 cats, 3 horses, ducks and chickens, a gecko, and a few fish as well. I escape from the world by riding my horses or taking the dogs on a hike. If I am not doing one of those 2 things, you can usually find me curled up in a corner reading a good book! I enjoy watching rodeo events, hockey games, going fishing, and hunting as well!

Emily Joosten, RVT, Director of Operations

I was born and raised in Minnesota then attended college at University of Wisconsin- La Crosse where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Marketing. In 2012 I decided it was time for a change and moved to Colorado to pursue my life long dream of working with animals by entering the veterinary medicine field and becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician. I worked in general practice for 5 years followed by the last 5+ years in specialty, specifically surgery, practices. In my spare time I love to hike, read, cook, travel, and enjoy everything beautiful Colorado has to offer with my husband, friends, and family.

Kaylee

Kaylee Heatley, RVT

I was born in California while my dad was serving in the Air Force, but I was raised in Morrison, Colorado, on a ranch that bred and showed Peruvian Paso horses. Growing up around animals inspired me to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, so after high school I enrolled in the Veterinary Technician Program at the Community College of Denver. I began my career working in both specialty and general practice clinics, starting as a receptionist and advancing into technician roles as I completed my education and became a Registered Veterinary Technician. After exploring several areas of veterinary medicine, I discovered my passion for surgery and enjoy the hands-on nature of helping patients through surgical procedures and recovery. Outside of work, I live in the mountains with my four dogs, a cat who thinks he’s a dog, and a flock of chickens. In my free time, I enjoy dirt biking, snowboarding, horseback riding, hiking, hunting, fishing, and golfing.
