I was born and raised in Colorado! I started working at a local vet clinic after high school and fell in love with the field. I moved to Wisconsin for a short time and worked with a range of species and a vet clinic there. Colorado called me back home in the summer of 2015. From 2015 until spring of 2021 I found myself working at several different vet clinics and animal ER clinics until I found my niche with Dr. Moorer in the spring of 2021! I have 2 rescue dogs (an American Staffordshire terrier and a mini Australian shepherd), 3 cats, 3 horses, ducks and chickens, a gecko, and a few fish as well. I escape from the world by riding my horses or taking the dogs on a hike. If I am not doing one of those 2 things, you can usually find me curled up in a corner reading a good book! I enjoy watching rodeo events, hockey games, going fishing, and hunting as well!

I have been in the veterinary field since 2014, starting with volunteering time at a local clinic in Colorado Springs. Currently, I am an aspiring veterinarian with a heavy interest in anesthesia/pain management, exotics, and emergency/critical care. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental biology in 2018 from CU Boulder; and since I have been furthering my experience in emergency medicine, critical care, and surgical specialties. My cat collection contains Mooshi, Rascal, and Roomba (pictured L to R).

Emily Joosten, CVT, Director of Operations

I was born and raised in Minnesota then attended college at University of Wisconsin- La Crosse where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Marketing. In 2012 I decided it was time for a change and moved to Colorado to pursue my life long dream of working with animals by entering the veterinary medicine field and becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician. I worked in general practice for 5 years followed by the last 5+ years in specialty, specifically surgery, practices. In my spare time I love to hike, read, cook, travel, and enjoy everything beautiful Colorado has to offer with my husband, friends, and family.

Jessica Domery, Veterinary Technician

I graduated from Bel-Rea Institute in June of 2011, receiving my Associate degree in Applied Science and certification in Veterinary Technology. As a technician
I gained my initial experience at two veterinary clinics in addition to working at a canine daycare and boarding facility. After discovering CRCG and the rehabilitation services offered there, I became interested in what they were all about. While employed at CRCG from 2014-2023, I received my certification as a Canine Rehab Veterinary Nurse. I also have about 3 years of experience with in-home pet sitting, mostly for rehab patients.

I then discovered Trek Veterinary Surgery and was excited to join their team! Being mobile in rehabilitation has many benefits for the pets as a lot of them are more comfortable in their own home! I enjoy every aspect of my job – playing a big role in each pet’s health, happiness and comfort by assisting in appropriate pain management, building and maintaining strength and in some cases re-training patients on how to move or walk.
Observing a patient’s progress and improvement over a period of time is a major
reward in rehabilitation as you are playing a big role in enhancing their mobility for a more functional and joyful life.

In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family (husband, son and step daughter) and 2 dogs (Nikita and Riley), visiting the mountains, and bike riding!
